Introduction
This recreational boat operator’s course has been designed to assist you in obtaining your Recreational Boat Operators Licence. On the completion of
this course you will have the necessary skills and knowledge required to competently operator a small vessel in sheltered waters safely.

Course Venue
Courses are conducted at our premises, Factory 16, 5 Samantha Court, Knoxfield (Melways 73 C7) every Tuesday night between 6.30 pm - 9.30 pm
numbers permitting
                           
OR
We will come to your house or venue - minimum number of 5
Weekdays 6.30 pm- 9.30 pm  or  Weekend - Sunday morning only 9 am - 12 noon.

Course Content
Carry out Trip Preparation and Planning
  • Maintenance of Vessel and Safety Equipment
  • Maintain the Mooring & Berthing Apparatus
  • Planning a Trip

Safely Operate a Small Mechanically Powered Vessel
  • Vessel Maneuvering and Handling
  • Safe Navigation
  • Anchoring Procedures

Respond to Boating Emergencies and Incidents
  • Use Safety Equipment
  • Raise Alarms
  • Deal with On-Board Emergency
  • Assist Others in Distress

Personal Water Craft (PWC)
  • Operators of PWC’s must obtain an endorsement on their licence in order to operate a PWC.

Issue of Licence
On successful completion of this course you will then be issued with a “Marine Safety Victoria” certificate, which you take to a Vic Roads office with proof
of identity in order for them to issue you with the appropriate licence.
